Hydro20 is a celebration of extraordinary people making an exceptional impact.
As the world faces critical water challenges, there are those who see obstacles as opportunities.
Hydro20 will celebrate these individuals… the ones who are driving change, disrupting norms, and doing good for water.
They come from diverse professions, backgrounds, and geographies, but are united by their commitment to sustainability of our most essential resource.
Each year, Hydro20 will shine a light on their stories and lift up their solutions.
Because the future of water depends on wavemakers.
The Hydro20 program is officially launching in September 2024, marking the beginning of a new tradition in recognizing excellence in water sustainability.
The initial selection committee includes Travis Loop (waterloop), Alexander Loucopoulos (Sciens Water), and Upmanu Lall (Water Institute at Arizona State University).
This fall, the selection committee will be expanded to include leading experts from key sectors such as utilities, technology, engineering, environmental, conservation, agriculture, food & beverage, finance, and communications.
Starting in January 2025, the public can submit nominations for the first Hydro20 honorees.
The first-ever Hydro20 honorees will be announced at the Rethinking Water Conference at Columbia University in 2025.
Hydro20 is organized by waterloop in collaboration with Sciens Water. Those interested in supporting the Hydro20 program or participating on the selection committee should contact Hydro20 organizers.
